From the desk of the Coordinator, IGNOU study centre

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of the country by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. Today, it serves the educational aspirations of over 3 million students in India and abroad through 21 Schools of Studies. The University offers about 228 certificate, diploma, degree and doctoral programmes. The Indira Gandhi National Open University, the National Resource Centre for Open and Distance Learning, with international recognition and presence, shall provide seamless access to sustainable and learner-centric quality education, skill up gradation and training to all by using innovative technologies and methodologies and ensuring convergence of existing systems for large-scale human resource development, required for promoting integrated national development and global understanding. The University has made a significant mark in the areas of higher education, community education and continual professional development. The University has been networking with reputed public institutions and private enterprises for enhancing the educational opportunities being offered by it. As a world leader in distance education, it has been conferred with awards of excellence by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Canada, several times. The degrees /diplomas/ certificates awarded by the university are at par and also have full recognition from the UGC as well as AICTE.


The University offers as many as 80 certificate programmes in different useful disciplines having minimum course duration of six months (with a maximum of 2 Years). Study centre at our college was established in 1998 and around 2500 learners enrolled every year in different courses of study. It was definitely an opportunities for the regular students of our college to pursue any certificate programmes in their own choice as an add-on programmes without devoting any extra time to the same. This may help in building carrier opportunities in future. The following certificate programmes are activated at our college study centre. Students may choose any of the following according to their own choice and convenience.


Certificate in Environmental Studies (CES), Certificate Programme in Laboratory Techniques (CPLT), Certificate Programme Teaching of Primary School Mathematics (CTPM), Certificate Programme in Rural Development (CRD),Certificate in Food and Nutrition (CFN), Certificate in Nutrition and Childcare (CNCC), Certificate in Tourism Studies (CTS), Certificate in Information Technology (CIT), Certificate in Consumer Protection (CCP), Certificate in Guidance (CIG),

The different courses available at our study centre along with the eligibility criteria, duration of the course and course fees are listed below for ready reference of the learners. The interested aspirants should get themselves admitted through online mode in either of the two sessions January and July every year. Most of the courses are offered in either English or Hindi medium.
